Russell Jamieson is a technologist with over twenty years experience in Finance, Telecommunications, Media and Oil industries.
Having qualified with a BSc. (Hons) First Class Degree in Electronic and Microprocessor Engineering from Strathclyde University in 1985, Russell started his career at PA Consulting which gave him early exposure to the City of London through assignments at Chase Manhattan, LIFFE and SWIFT in Brussels.
After two years he left the UK and spent four years contracting as a database specialist in Geneva, Rotterdam, Utrecht, Brussels, Siracusa and then back in London.
Russell then returned to a permanent roles as Database and Technical Services Manager at Credit Suisse and then Barclays Mercantile before taking on the role of System Development Manager for 4 years at NTL Cabletel.
The next phase of Russell’s career was as director of a small software and web development company which delivered web based solutions for campaign management and document management. This ended as the DotCom bubble burst.
After a couple of years at UBS building a Performance Metrics System, Russell has spent the last 5 years at Barclays Global Investors in a technology management role.
In 2006 Russell started a professional development programme based around the CFA program in order to understand the principles of investment management. Russell has passed the CFA Level 2 examination and will sit the final CFA Level 3 examination in June 2009.
